A computer virus or malware is a software program that spreads from one computer to another computer and interferes with normal system operation. A virus may corrupt or delete data on a computer, use your e-mail program to spread the virus to other computers, or even delete all data on your hard drive.
Computer viruses are most easily spread via email attachments. It’s so very important that you never EVER open an email attachment unless you know who sent the message or unless you are expecting the email attachment from the sender. Viruses and malware can also be hidden as attachments in funny images, IM messages, or movie and music files. Viruses are often packaged with pirated software or in other files or programs that you may download.
